The 12-member committee, chaired by Prasar Bharati board member Ashok Kumar Tandon, will review the amount of compensation in the event of death as well as other cases under the program, the program said on Thursday. ministry.
The terms of reference (TOR) of the committee include the examination of the need for such a revision of the amount of compensation.
The committee will examine the aspect of differentiation or parity between accredited and non-accredited journalists to benefit from the benefits of the regime.
“Revision / broadening of the definition of active journalist for the purposes of the program, taking into account the Labor, Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code-2020 as well as the rules of information technology (intermediate directives and code of ethics for digital media), 2021 “, indicates a notification issued by the ministry.
He added that “any other aspect deemed appropriate by the committee” will be included in its terms of reference.
The committee will issue its recommendations within two months and all secretarial assistance for convening its meetings will be provided by the Press Information Office (PIB), the ministry said.
