One-third of long-term care insurance applicants recover from AALTCI reports

Los Angeles, CA 07 October 2021 – (PR.com) – According to American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance (AALTCI).

“Many people mistakenly believe that most long-term care insurance claims relate to care in skilled nursing facilities,” explains Jesse slome, director of the long-term care insurance organization. “Most of the care is actually provided at the insured’s home, where he or she prefers to be.”

The organization provides a compendium of the latest relevant data regarding long term care insurance, including claims usage. “One of the more interesting facts that have just been revealed is that almost a third of home care seekers are recovering,” Slome shares. The data was shared with the Association by LTCG, one of the nation’s largest plan administrators. The number considered requests for home care before the pandemic.

“The need for long-term care can arise for many reasons,” notes Slome. “Indeed, the need for care can often be long, hence the name of the insurance coverage. But it can also be relatively short and this data shows that indeed a significant percentage of those who do make a claim recover and no longer claim ”Slome Notes. When a policyholder makes a claim, they usually stop paying the premiums for their insurance coverage. Likewise, when a claim stops, premium payments begin again.

The American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance (AALTCI) advocates the importance of planning and supports insurance professionals who market traditional and hybrid LTC solutions.
