Reliance General Insurance today launched the Reliance Health Super Top-up insurance policy, which addresses the challenge of insufficient health coverage when medical costs exceed standard coverage and increase an insured’s personal expenses. The policy can be purchased by anyone between the ages of 18 and 65.
The life insurance company says Reliance Health Super Top-up is an affordable way to improve health insurance coverage with a host of cutting-edge benefits, especially with rising medical costs. From organ donor spending to modern, state-of-the-art treatments like robotic surgeries, can be used without any cap in policy. The policy also offers global coverage, as well as air ambulance coverage up to Rs 5 lakhs, maternity coverage up to Rs 2 lakhs and consumable items, which are rare to find benefits.
The Reliance Health Super top-up insurance options range from Rs 5 lakhs to Rs 1.3 crore. The company says the higher sum insured acts as a financial cushion for policyholders to supplement their existing low-coverage health policies, which are insufficient to meet financial needs for even minor hospitalization.
People without an existing health insurance policy can also choose this super supplemental plan and pay the chosen deductible in the policy out of their own pocket. A range of deductible options ranging from Rs 2 lakhs to Rs 30 lakhs, which makes it easy to choose it according to one’s needs, depending on whether the amount of the deductible paid by the individual from an existing basic policy or out of pocket, before the super top-up policy can begin to cover.
Rakesh Jain, Managing Director and CEO of Reliance General Insurance, says: “The past year has been difficult for everyone as people go through an uncertain health crisis. With medical costs becoming exorbitant with the growing demand for health care, we alleviate the problems of our policyholders by offering an insurance product like the Reliance Health Super Top Up policy, which gives an individual the excess financial coverage they have so much. need, in a cost-effective manner, which can increase insurance protection for them and their families.
The Super Complementary contract can be taken out on an individual or family floating basis, for 1, 2 or 3 years of seniority. The policy offers a “long-term comprehensive deductible”, where the amount of the deductible has to be crossed only once for long-term policy periods of 2 or 3 years, which is otherwise an annual requirement. The policy also offers the option of removing the deductible and converting the super supplemental policy to a standard health policy after 4 loss-free years, with its deductible surrender function.
